RSVP Remix

Today's Trendy Tip:

When it comes to your response cards, don't be afraid to deviate from the norm! Leave the formalities behind and have a little fun - it will bring a light-hearted feel to your overall invitation suite, and will let your guests know that a rockin' reception awaits them. =)

Here are some of our favorite tips for creating a fun & festive response card...
  • Instead of the traditional "will attend" or "will not attend", get creative with the wording for your response options!
  • Use eye-catching fonts (and don't be afraid to mix & match)
  • Consider using icons/graphics for meal options, instead of just writing them out
  • Allow your guests to be interactive with their response - include a line for reception song requests, or a space for the guests to write you a short note!

We absolutely love when brides give us creative reign on their invitation suites (especially the response cards) - so don't be afraid to lean on your graphic designer for creative ideas, as well!

Inside the Studio: June 2012

It's officially summertime, bringing with it another crazy wedding season! All of our June clients were an absolute dream to work with, and we can't wait to see the pro photos of their events. =)

In the meantime, here's a peek at a handful of orders we were working on this month....

Now that all of our June orders are completed & shipped, it's time for a brief vacation.....

As some of you may have already heard, we'll be closed for the month of July in preparation for our newest addition - a baby boy! With the crazy hours we've been working this month, our overworked equipment will surely be happy to have a short summer break, too. =)

Rest assured that if your event is already on our books, we'll resume email & proofing in late July. We'll post more details about our official reopening on our Facebook page, so be sure to keep an eye on that for updates.

Enjoy the summer & stay cool! We'll see you back in the studio {and back here on the blog} in August! =)

Etsy Envy: May 2012

With Mother's Day just around the corner, we're dedicating this month's "Etsy Envy" blog feature to our favorite gift ideas for Mom.

Enjoy & happy shopping! =)

----------------------------------------------------

Mom will love taking this eco-friendly tote with her on shopping excursions, grocery store visits, and other everyday outings. With it's neutral colors, it's also a nice complimentary piece to just about anything in her wardrobe.

You can customize this bamboo cutting board with Mom's favorite family recipe -
what an extremely thoughtful & personal gift idea!

What lady doesn't love jewelry? These pretty bangle bracelets are just one of many items that we adore in this Etsy shop. Be sure to also check out the Sterling Silver Stackable Rings - when paired with these bracelets, it's the perfect gift set!

Inside the Studio: April 2012

This month has been hectic, to say the least! We apologize for the short blogging hiatus during our production craziness. =)

Now that most of our spring weddings are wrapping up, it's time to switch gears & focus on our June & July clients & their "wedding day" design concepts. On top of that, we have a handful of other fun things in store for us here in the studio, which include.....

.....getting my copy of Amy Altas' new book, Sweet Designs, in the mail! I absolutely love her gorgeous desserts, event styling techniques, and overall savvy business sense. Ooooo, I'm {im}patiently waiting for Amazon to send me my shipping notification, so I can begin stalking my UPS tracking website. =)

.....receiving the full set of photos from our recent photoshoot collaboration! It was an absolute dream team of local vendors - Boldly Chic Events, Design Group, A Cut Above Catering, Cake Zen, La Dolce Salon & Spa, Bella Bridesmaid of Indianapolis, and of course, the insanely talented Sara and Mallary Photography, who provided photography for the entire day! The photoshoot took place at one of our absolute favorite new Indy-area venues, the rustic grounds of Mustard Seed Gardens. {Considering a barn wedding? This place is a must-see!}

...starting the planning process and invitation design for my sister's baby shower! They just found out they're having a little girl, and we couldn't be more excited for them. =) {This little lady is going to be SO spoiled!} I just love that we're both expecting little ones this summer - I can't imagine sharing in this wonderful experience with anyone other than one of my sisters. =)

What a fun week it's going to be!!!!

Vintage Chic Matchbook Save-the-Dates

If you're a Facebook fan of ours, you've probably already seen the "sneak peek" of one of our latest custom designs - matchbook save-the-dates!

These were created for some of my absolute favorite clients for the upcoming fall wedding season. They are two of the sweetest, most genuine people I've ever met! {I always score the best clients. How do I always get so lucky?!}

The couple initially met on Match.com - so they wanted a save-the-date that subtly paid homage to their relationship & how they met. They approached me with the genius idea of creating a matchbook {I have to give credit where credit is due}. How clever!

We ran with their idea & created a matchbook card to coordinate with their "Vintage Chic" wedding style & color scheme. {Enlarging it to-scale to allow for easy mailing, of course.}

Once the matchbook design was completed, we moved on to create a coordinating magnet to adhere inside the matchbook cover....

We then finished the order by pairing them with shimmery gold envelopes - complete with their return address printed in a matching font.

Once I had them fully assembled, I just couldn't take my eyes off of them - they turned out beautifully! I delivered these lovelies on Monday, and needless to say,1 it was hard to say goodbye to them.

However, I do find peace in knowing these will soon be gracing the mailboxes of my clients' guests.......and {hopefully} bringing them the same level of delight. =)

2012 Spring Color Trend Alert!

From what I've seen in the studio lately, March and April brides are loving all shades Purple for their wedding day! I don't blame them for using such a pretty hue - it's truly a statement color, bringing a sense of elegance and splendor to your big day.

Here are a few pieces we've recently created for our spring brides....

From Eggplant to Lavender to Lapis, every shade of purple is popping up in weddings this season. No complaints here - from a design perspective, it's a shade that easily pairs with just about any other color. Need help with purple color combo ideas? Here are some of our favorites...

....this post on The Wedding Chicks blog, featuring one of our very own Fall 2011 couples! Their soft color scheme of purple, apricot & green has such an ethereal & romantic feel!

...this gorgeous photo gallery by Loverly, full of inspirational photos featuring purple wedding decor & attire!

Already planning on using a shade of purple in your wedding? We'd love to hear more about your color scheme! Feel free to share your color pairings & purple decor ideas below!

Etsy Envy: February 2012

With all of the projects we have going on around our house, I've been on the hunt for coordinating home decor for our updated rooms! Being the dedicated Etsier I am, I started my search on Etsy.com, of course. =)

Check out some of my favorite finds....

A stylish way to add some organization to your office, kitchen or front entryway! I especially love the rustic, farmhouse-style woodworking and vintage hardware.

Upcycled Frame Collection by Wendy's Vintage Shop
One of my upcoming projects is a photo wall in our front foyer - these Victorian cottage style frames would be perfect!
I also stumbled upon this shop during my search for frames. They also offer similar frame collections, sconces & other home decor in the most stunning color combos - perfect for the design-challenged folks out there, who are looking for a little inspiration!

Left: Vintage Wire Bottle Basket by This Other ThingRight: Vintage Wire Basket by Green Canyon Home
The shabby chic style gets me every time! I have an attraction to all items that look like they've been plucked right out of an old farmhouse. =) These pretty wire baskets would go perfect atop of my vintage furniture. Plus, they're the
perfect pieces for organizing cluttered spaces, like the kitchen or home office.

Left: Hobnail Milk Glass Compote by The Vintage Daughter
Right: Vintage Ceramic Pitcher by Love Cyn
I know, I know....as if I need to add any more pieces to my ever-growing milk glass & Fiestaware collections! However, I am head over heels with both of these items.
Compotes are such a lovely addition to any room - you can display fruits, deserts, florals, guest bath toiletries...just about anything in them! The milk glass on this is especially lovely, and will work alongside any color scheme.
The little yellow pitcher, of course, would look great in my pie cabinet....next to the rest of my vintage {and new} Fiestware. =)

New Product Showcase: "Regal" Ceremony Program

We'd like to introduce the latest addition to our Etsy shop - the "Regal" wedding ceremony program card!

This design's scroll graphics, borders, justified text & classic fonts are a perfect illustration of "modern elegance."

This double-sided program card features a double border, creating the same visual appeal as a layered program card {without the additional cost}.

The long & slender layout also allows plenty of space for ceremony text, as well as room to list your wedding party & additional details on the backside. {We suggest including a personal note to your guests, directions to the reception, or your new address as husband & wife!}

Love the look? We can also create save-the-dates, favor tags, menus & table numbers to match! Feel free to visit our Etsy shop for additional pricing information, or drop us an email at interprintations@gmail.com for a custom quote!

Weekend Chatter: Books, Tables, and a {Super} Bowl

It's so close to the release date of Amy Atlas' new book! I already have mine on pre-order via Amazon...do you?

We are putting the final touches on our paperie for the upcoming Art of the Table event, which will grace the table designed by Boldly Chic Events and Design Group! The event is taking place on March 4th at the Columbia Club in downtown Indy. Be sure to purchase your tickets in advance & stop by to check out the stunning event inspiration, put together by Indy's most talented event planners, florists, and caterers.

And last, but certainly not least....

{Unless you're living under a rock} Everyone knows that the Super Bowl is this Sunday! I must say, living in this year's host city has been quite an experience. I am SO PROUD of the great press our wonderful city is getting, and hope that the whole country is is taking note - from it's Hoosier hospitality to it's vast experience in hosting large events (Hello! Indy 500 = the largest single-day sporting event in the WORLD), it's clear to see that Indianapolis is a world-class city. =)

Cheers to bustling weekend ahead! Who will you be rooting for on Sunday?

New Product Showcase: "Divine" Pocketfold Invitation

As mentioned earlier this week, we are expanding our Etsy shop & overall product line. So, what better way to kick off the weekend than with some snapshots of our latest paperie?

Today we're introducing the "Divine" pocketfold invitation set into our Etsy shop, making it the first pre-designed pocketfold to grace our storefront!

The invitation card, featuring a double-lined border & justified text, is mounted inside an elegant 5" x 7" pearlescent pocketfold.

To dress up your pocketfold invitation set: consider alternating the envelope & pocketfold color, adding a colorful envelope liner, or even using a closure tag & baker's twine (or ribbon) to add some color on the outside of the pocketfold!

To keep it modern: use a vellum envelope & a wrap-around label in a matching design!

With it's fashionable fonts & poster-like layout, this invitation ensemble is completely versatile - it can be a great fit for any wedding style!

Love the look? We can also create favor tags, programs & table numbers to match! Feel free to visit our Etsy shop for additional pricing information, or drop us an interprintations@gmail.com for a custom quote.

Enjoy your weekend & thanks for stopping by! Stay tuned next week for a new "Etsy Envy" post & more product features!

New Product Showcase: Ornate Monogram Menu Card

With the spring wedding season right around corner, it's time for us to start updating the Etsy shop! One of the first items we're unveiling this week is our Ornate Monogram Menu Card...

Measuring approx. 6" square, it's sized to lay perfectly inside a charger or dinner plate. It's a great way to add a dash of color to each place setting, without distracting from the rest of your table's decor.

This elegant menu card is printed on a luxurious 100lb white linen cardstock & layered on top of a pearlescent backer card. Prominent fonts and an ornate monogram help polish off the menu's prestigious design.

Love the look? We can also create favor tags, programs & table numbers to match! Feel free to visit our Etsy shop for additional pricing information, or drop us an interprintations@gmail.com for a custom quote.

Stay tuned for more designer paperie! Our Etsy shop is ever growing...

Inside the Studio: January 2012

What a month it's been so far! As soon as we bid farewell to the holiday season, it has been non-stop here in the studio.

Between production on items for our March & April brides, creating marketing materials for local event professionals, and the usual steady stream of Etsy orders.....our printers have been going practically non-stop.

However, the next few days will be dedicated to testing out our new laser-cut designs, so we're giving our overworked printers the weekend off. =) Our new laser-cut product line will be making it's debut at the upcoming Art of the Table event, where we're collaborating with Boldly Chic Events and Design Group on a fabulous tablescape! If you are a bride-to-be, a professional in the event industry, or just have a love for florals, linens & decor.....you won't want to miss it! {Be sure to buy your tickets in advance online!}

While we continue to catch up here in the studio, I'll leave you with a few snapshots of our latest work....enjoy!
