Our new addition...

If you follow us on Twitter, you may have seen our exclamation last week about our newest addition......another printer!

One of our goals for 2011 was to expand our printer fleet, and we didn't waste anytime reaching that goal. =)

The best thing about this latest addition is that it helps us expand our product line - we will now be able to accommodate custom design requests for photo birth announcements and photo save-the-date cards.

We've already completed some designs.....take a look!

These photo announcement cards are printed on heavy duty 120lb matte cardstock, and include white stardream envelopes with purchase. All colors are completely customizable to match your newborn's photo.

New Product Showcase: Fresno Wedding Collection

Here at Interprintations, we do a lot of work for couples with a modern, simplistic flair. They are looking for something that will stand out & make a statement. This interprets into a high demand for interesting fonts, structured layouts, and crisp colors.

Our latest designs, part of the Fresno wedding collection, were designed exactly with these couples in mind. Check out our newest items, the Fresno save-the-date card and flat-panel program!

The sleek border adds the right amount of color, while the text alignment brings a modernized feel. The fonts finish off these modern designs by creating the right combination of chic simplicity. These pieces are a perfect fit for today's modern, big city wedding.

Loving these stationery pieces? Check them out in our Etsy shop, or email us today at interprintations@gmail.com for a custom quote!

A Colorful Week

All I can say is.....TGIF! It has been one CRAZY week!

I started off the week by meeting with the amazing vendors of Your Formal Affair in Carmel, which I've recently joined. It's a collaboration of Indy's premier wedding professionals, all showcased at 1117 S. Rangeline Road.

During our meeting, we worked on finalizing the details for our upcoming bridal show on Sunday February 27th - be sure to put it on your calendar! Lots of great vendors, delicious food, tasty wine samples, and tons of great deals & door prizes for wedding services. {Plus, all proceeds are going to the American Heart Association!}

Then, mid-week, this happened....

Which delayed some of our order shipments - needless to say, I was NOT happy to wake up to this! I have way too much to get done to be snowed in. But I have since shoveled the driveway & am happy to report that I made it out alive. =)

The last two days have been filled with Etsy orders, custom designs, rehearsal dinner & wedding invitations. Here's a sneak peek at today's big order - a lovely color combo, I must say! I love that brides are ordering more and more of these clutch pocket invites...

Clutch Pocket Invitation: a modern version of the traditional "pocketfold" - a flat-panel pocket (no "fold"), with the invitation mounted on one side, and the inserts tucked in on the opposite side.

Ahhhh.......and now time to relax. =) I don't know about you, but I'll be relaxing this evening, staying out of the -3 degree temps, watching some TV & eating some fabulous Chinese takeout. {Is it dinner time yet??}

We've been published!

.....ok, maybe I should clarify. =)

We were recently called upon by La Dolce Salon & Spa to help them with some custom design work. The first thing on their list was a full-page ad to be included in this month's issue of Indianapolis Woman! This is my favorite local publication, so needless to say I was elated to have this opportunity.

Thanks to Colleen at La Dolce for the opportunity to do some true graphic design work. Don't get me wrong, I love love LOVE doing wedding stationery, but it's always good to stretch your {proverbial} legs and use your talent in other areas. =)

So without further ado, here it is on page 84 in all it's glory!

The magazine is now out on newsstands, so be sure to pick up a copy!

New Product Showcase: Havana Wedding Collection

A new trend we've noticed for the upcoming spring/summer weddings is the Art Deco theme. It is parallel to the "Old Hollywood" theme, and makes a bold statement when featured in stationery pieces.

{Art Deco: a style of design from the 1920s & 1930s, featuring stylized designs & geometric forms}

Our latest stationery, the Havana wedding invitation, is the perfect piece for an Art Deco wedding. It features bold details & symmetrical lines, as well as old-fashioned fonts and a vintage layout.

You can order this set online in our Etsy shop, as well as matching programs, menus & other pieces. Local consultations are also available - please email interprintations@gmail.com for more details.

Sweet Luxury

If you've been to a wedding reception in recent years, you've more than likely seen your fair share of candy bars. It's a great substitute for pre-packaged favors, and gives your guests a selection of goodies to take home.

{Candy Bar: a tablescape featuring various jars & canisters filled with colorful candy.}

But why not take it to the next level? Make it a true sweets table, complete with your favorite sweet treats like cupcakes, truffles, cookies, and colorful beverages. Organize it in a way that will take their breath away - think pretty paper labels and everything lined up neatly in rows.

And don't feel like you have to wait until your wedding reception to feature a luxurious sweets table - set one out at the next baby shower, bridal shower or party you throw!

I recently held a holiday party at my house - just a small gathering of my fellow sorority sisters living {or spending the holidays} in the Indy area. I thought, what better time to try my hand at a sweets table than at a holiday party?

I called up Lori from Boldly Chic Events for help with the set-up, and I have to say I'm elated with the end result! I'm pretty sure my guests also appreciated the attention to detail & delicious treats....

A Holiday Proposal: Now what?

The family is gathered, the atmosphere is festive, the scenery is picturesque.......what sets the stage for a wedding proposal better than the holiday season?

This is one of the most popular times of the year to pop the question. And if you recently became engaged over the holidays - Congratulations!

While the thought of wedding planning might put your mind in a tizzy, it is only as stressful as you let it be. Here are a few tips to help you tackle the process with style & grace. =)

Take the first couple of weeks to relax & enjoy being a new bride-to-be.
While most new brides-to-be will rush out to buy a dress, rent a venue, and hire a caterer......it's best to let the dust settle before kicking up your heels again. Once you do begin the planning process, you will have had the time to gather your emotions & thoughts regarding what you want in a wedding.

Set a budget. And stick to it.
One of the biggest problems with brides & grooms today is overspending. Look at your income {and parent contributions, if available}, and determine what you can afford to spend without any debt. Then divide your budget into categories (flowers, photography, dress), and don't budge unless you're willing to pull funds from another category. One thing you don't want to have hanging over you as newlyweds is more debt.

Hire a wedding planner!
Don't be intimidated by the term - wedding planners will work with your budget. It will be a huge stress reliever to have someone helping you organize & make sense of your 4-inch binder of inspirational ideas. Whether it's a full-scale planner who manages your contracts & design details, or just a day-of coordinator, you will be SO glad you relinquished control to a pro.

Do your research.
Before you begin hiring {or even meeting with} vendors, look up their reviews online & ask around about their reputation. Vendor reviews from past clients are your best indication as to whether they are reliable, professional & knowledgeable within their chosen profession.

Best of luck in the wedding planning process! And don't forget to send save-the-date cards to your out-of-town guests, so they can get an early start on their travel plans. =)

Taking it to a new level

New Years resolutions aren't just for individuals - they're for businesses, too! =)

As we step into our first week of business in 2011, we bring with us a laundry list of resolutions for making our business bigger & better than ever. At the top of our list are:

1. Expand our product line & services
This month, we're adding 2 printers to our fleet - and will soon be offering photo birth announcements & envelope addressing services! We also have a few other items up our sleeve.....more details coming soon. =)

2. Participate more actively in the Indianapolis wedding community
Whether it's through bridal shows, networking groups or events, I want to get to know more local wedding vendors. I really value their opinion, and find them to be great sounding boards for new ideas. {Your best resources are your peers!}

3. Put together a large database of photos featuring our stationery in-use at clients' events.
I would love to have a lovely hardcover book made, which would feature various pieces of Interprintations stationery in-use at our clients' events. I think it's a great way to showcase our work, as well as provide inspiration for our current clients.

{If you're a previous customer with great photos of our stationery - we'd love to feature your items! Email us today for more details.}

We are so excited about the new year and the new opportunities that lie ahead! What resolutions have you put in place for yourself and/or your business?
