Pretty in Pink

Pink - it can be fun & flirty, romantic & soft, or bold & beautiful. Whatever way you want to use it, it's a great color choice for a wedding!

I always love to see brides incorporate this color - there are endless possibilities, color combos, and fun ideas when pink enters the picture.

Carb Day 2010!

This past Friday was full of family time at the good ol' Indianapolis Motor Speedway! Despite the insane crowds and scorching heat, we were still able to enjoy our quality time in the pits and garage area.

Being around the amazing energy of this event is indescribable. Hopefully you were able to make it out to the track this month, too!

My Other Love....

I'd like you to meet my other love -

Photography!

{Yes, Stationery knows and is totally cool with it.}

One of my dearest friends from college is getting married later this year - when she mentioned that she still needed engagement photos, I jumped at the opportunity to help her out. And I'm so glad I did! I paired with her sister, Anna {who also has a thing for Photography}......and had such a blast! Take a look at how they turned out...

Congratulations on your engagement, Monica & Jayson! Thanks so much for letting me help out with your engagement photos. You both rock and I'm so excited for the wedding festivities in South Carolina this December. =)

A "Racy" Affair

We recently teamed up with Boldly Chic Events for a race-themed party — and it wasn't your run-of-the-mill backyard barbecue! Complete with checkered flags, themed signature drinks, and other gorgeous details, it turned out to be quite a fabulous affair. Check it out...

Small checkered detailing helped bring the event to life.

Who doesn’t love a festive signature drink?

Lori from Boldly Chic Events has such a great eye for the smallest details!

We were honored to provide the stationery for such a classy event. It was such a blast working with Lori Solomon from Boldly Chic Events, and we hope to pair up for another event soon!

The Rehearsal Dinner Rundown

A great way to wind down on your wedding eve is to host a gathering after your ceremony rehearsal. Whether it's a casual cookout at someone's house, or a more formal plated meal at a local country club, your rehearsal dinner is a great way to squeeze in some intimate time with those closest to you.

The Guest List
You always want to make sure that the your parents, siblings, wedding party and officiant are invited to your post-rehearsal event. Depending on the hosts' budget, you might also want to extend the courtesy of allowing your guests to bring a +1. If you are also expecting out-of-town guests {especially those unfamiliar with the area}, it might also be a good idea to extend an invitation to them.

The Theme
The rehearsal dinner is set apart from the actual wedding day festivities, so get creative! No need to be "matchy matchy" with the chosen wedding color scheme. Let your host or hostess know that the decor, setting, and overall ambiance of the rehearsal dinner is completely to their discretion. Let the venue set the stage!

The Toasts
After dinner, the hosts should open the floor for anyone to give a toast. Is your Uncle John prone to embarrassing you with stories of yesteryear? Now would be a time to encourage him to steal the mike - as opposed to giving a speech in front of your 200+ guests at the reception.

The Gifts
It's customary to gift your attendants with a small token of your gratitude for partaking in your big day. Recently, it's also become a trend to get both sets of parents a small gift. After dinner {and the embarrassing speeches} is an ideal time to present them with their gifts.

The Invitations
An invitation is a guest's first impression of the occasion - so be sure to choose something that is fitting for the chosen theme and venue. Hosting the event at an Italian restaurant? Work in a "Bon Appetit" or other fun Italian phrase. Having everyone over for dinner on the farm? Feature a rustic barn as a background graphic. The possibilities are endless - and the more you focus on the small details, the more your guests will appreciate the {shall we channel some Kimora?} "fabulousity" of your event!

There's more than corn in Indiana!

If you're not familiar with the month of May in Indianapolis - think checkered flags, fast laps and big celebrities. For the next few weeks, our entire city will revolve around one event.........the Indianapolis 500!

That's right, folks. The largest one-day sporting event in the world is held right here in good ol' Indianapolis. And we are SO excited that it's race season again! Only in Indiana are things like "Bump Day" and "Carb Day" a staple in our vocabulary. =)

Be sure to check out the full schedule for May at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway's website. The month of May is jam-packed with events that are both family-friendly and easy on the wallet!
