With all of the projects we have going on around our house, I've been on the hunt for coordinating home decor for our updated rooms! Being the dedicated Etsier I am, I started my search on Etsy.com, of course. =)

A stylish way to add some organization to your office, kitchen or front entryway! I especially love the rustic, farmhouse-style woodworking and vintage hardware.

Upcycled Frame Collection by Wendy's Vintage Shop
One of my upcoming projects is a photo wall in our front foyer - these Victorian cottage style frames would be perfect!
I also stumbled upon this shop during my search for frames. They also offer similar frame collections, sconces & other home decor in the most stunning color combos - perfect for the design-challenged folks out there, who are looking for a little inspiration!

The shabby chic style gets me every time! I have an attraction to all items that look like they've been plucked right out of an old farmhouse. =) These pretty wire baskets would go perfect atop of my vintage furniture. Plus, they're the perfect pieces for organizing cluttered spaces, like the kitchen or home office.

I know, I know....as if I need to add any more pieces to my ever-growing milk glass & Fiestaware collections! However, I am head over heels with both of these items.
Compotes are such a lovely addition to any room - you can display fruits, deserts, florals, guest bath toiletries...just about anything in them! The milk glass on this is especially lovely, and will work alongside any color scheme.
The little yellow pitcher, of course, would look great in my pie cabinet....next to the rest of my vintage {and new} Fiestware. =)

New Product Showcase: "Regal" Ceremony Program

We are putting the final touches on our paperie for the upcoming Art of the Table event, which will grace the table designed by Boldly Chic Events and Design Group! The event is taking place on March 4th at the Columbia Club in downtown Indy. And last, but certainly not least....

{Unless you're living under a rock} Everyone knows that the Super Bowl is this Sunday! I must say, living in this year's host city has been quite an experience. I am SO PROUD of the great press our wonderful city is getting, and hope that the whole country is is taking note - from it's Hoosier hospitality to it's vast experience in hosting large events (Hello! Indy 500 = the largest single-day sporting event in the WORLD), it's clear to see that Indianapolis is a world-class city. =)

New Product Showcase: Ornate Monogram Menu Card

With the spring wedding season right around corner, it's time for us to start updating the Etsy shop! One of the first items we're unveiling this week is our Ornate Monogram Menu Card...


Measuring approx. 6" square, it's sized to lay perfectly inside a charger or dinner plate. It's a great way to add a dash of color to each place setting, without distracting from the rest of your table's decor.


This elegant menu card is printed on a luxurious 100lb white linen cardstock & layered on top of a pearlescent backer card. Prominent fonts and an ornate monogram help polish off the menu's prestigious design.

Inside the Studio: January 2012

What a month it's been so far! As soon as we bid farewell to the holiday season, it has been non-stop here in the studio.

Between production on items for our March & April brides, creating marketing materials for local event professionals, and the usual steady stream of Etsy orders.....our printers have been going practically non-stop.

However, the next few days will be dedicated to testing out our new laser-cut designs, so we're giving our overworked printers the weekend off. =) Our new laser-cut product line will be making it's debut at the upcoming Art of the Table event, where we're collaborating with Boldly Chic Events and Design Group on a fabulous tablescape! Catching up

This year's wedding season rushed in so fast that we've hardly had time to keep up with ourselves....let alone maintain the blog! So I must apologize for the absence - I'm finally starting to get caught up {as much as I can, anyway} and am stepping back into the blogosphere. =)

As I wade through the craziness that has ensued within the studio, I can't help but get excited about what's still ahead for Interprintations this summer...

For starters, our Etsy shop is breeching the milestone of 300 sales since opening in the Spring of 2010. We are also currently creating new product lines, starting with rustic veneer (wood) invitations & letterpress sets! {Stay tuned to our Facebook page for teaser photos!}

So I promise to step it up on the blog over the summer, and look forward to sharing a LOT of new items & photos from our latest weddings. For now, I'll leave you with some teasers from the last few weeks.....

An action-packed week!

Talk about an action-packed week, both in and out of the studio!

First off, if you've been keeping an eye on our Facebook page and/or our Etsy shop, you've probably noticed some new designs & products popping up! Needless to say, we couldn't be more excited about our new round menu cards, reception signage, wrap-around address labels, and new wedding invitation designs! They've been long in the works, and they are the first of many new additions to our product line this wedding season...so stay tuned. =)


We also recently lent our design expertise to the lovely folks over at Snappening, as they prepare for their next event - their official Launch Party! We can't wait to attend this event, taking place in the breathtaking D'Amore space on the Chase Tower's 48th floor. If you're a professional who is in any way involved in event planning, this is definitely an event to add to your calendars - but be sure to RSVP! {Not familiar with Snappening? You can read all about them here.}

Proper Protocol: Are address labels acceptable?

We recently received the following inquiry, along with other similar ones in the recent months. We thought it would be a great topic to address in our blog....

I'm helping my sister with her upcoming wedding, and volunteered to help with the addressing of her invitations. We are looking for a way to get these done quickly, and were wondering if it's ok to use labels for the guest addresses? Also, can labels be used on the bridal shower & rehearsal dinner invitations?

When it comes to wedding invitations, it is best to stray away from using printed labels to address the envelopes. I know a lot of brides are tempted to print their guest addresses on labels - but don't do it! It is a big invitation faux-pax that can easily be avoided.

Not only is it traditional to hand-write the addresses yourself {or hire a calligrapher}, it also preserves the "personal" touch to a wedding invitation. If someone is close enough to you that they deserve a personal invitation, then you should take a quick moment to hand-address the envelope.

Labels also detract from the appearance of your lovely, colorful invitations. What ruins a gorgeous envelope more than a big white label? Take a few moments to hand-write the address & preserve the loveliness of you invitation. A label will also make your invitation look like a mass-produced mailer, and can possibly be mistaken for junk or unsolited mail. The last thing you want is for your invitation to accidentally get tossed in the trash.

For party invitations, such as bridal showers and rehearsal dinners, it is more acceptable to address them with printed labels. However, it's usually still best to hand-address these, as to avoid having the invite mistaken for junk mail.

I know it may be tempting to use labels for your invitations, but it's just not worth offending your guests over or having your invitation get lost in the junk mail pile. Instead, recruit your bridesmaids, sisters, and mother to help you address the envelopes. With quite a few hands at work, you can get them completed in no time!

I'm sure all of you know I'm a huge fan of Etsy.com - it's definitely no mystery.

Taking it to a new level

New Years resolutions aren't just for individuals - they're for businesses, too! =)

As we step into our first week of business in 2011, we bring with us a laundry list of resolutions for making our business bigger & better than ever. At the top of our list are:

1. Expand our product line & services
This month, we're adding 2 printers to our fleet - and will soon be offering photo birth announcements & envelope addressing services! We also have a few other items up our sleeve.....more details coming soon. =)

2. Participate more actively in the Indianapolis wedding community
Whether it's through bridal shows, networking groups or events, I want to get to know more local wedding vendors. I really value their opinion, and find them to be great sounding boards for new ideas. {Your best resources are your peers!}

3. Put together a large database of photos featuring our stationery in-use at clients' events.
I would love to have a lovely hardcover book made, which would feature various pieces of Interprintations stationery in-use at our clients' events. I think it's a great way to showcase our work, as well as provide inspiration for our current clients.

Twenty Ten in Review

Interprintations - 2010 in review!

What a fun, frantic, fabulous year it's been in the Interprintations studio! I am so proud of all the accomplishments I was able to conquer this year, and am filled with anticipation to see what's to come in 2011!

I tested our luck at our first bridal show in September - with great success! We are already getting positive feedback & booking brides for summer/fall 2011.

Our Etsy shop saw 143 new customers this year! The customer feedback has been phenomenal. Our designs are selling themselves & our customers are spreading the word about Interprintations - we couldn't be more proud. =)

Our Facebook page has accumulated 147 fans - thank you to all who are following us!

I joined a wonderful local organization called AlphaChicks - an organization for strong, professional women entrepreneurs in the Indianapolis area. I have met some fabulous women & made some great business/networking connections. I'm so glad to call myself
an Alpha Chick!
{This is more of a personal feat for me, but I still wanted to share in case there are any other Indy-area women entrepreneurs reading our blog!}
